Case registered against Balveer Singh; 5 people testified against officer Amuda in the 2nd phase of the investigation

Tirunelveli: Senior IAS officer B. Amuda appointed by the Tamil Nadu government to investigate and report on the controversy of pulling out the teeth of those taken for questioning in Tirunelveli Ambasamudram police station started the 2nd phase of investigation today. Meanwhile, a case was registered against the dismissed police officer Balveer Singh.

The Superintendent of Police, Balveer Singh, has been accused of pulling out the teeth of those who were taken to police stations in Ambasamudram Police Station for questioning. Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police Saravanan and other police officers have been placed on the waiting list in this regard. Divisional Assistant Superintendent of Police Balveer Singh has been dismissed.

In relation to this issue, District Collector G.P. Cheranmahadevi Sub-Collector Muhammad Sabir Alam, who conducted the investigation as per the order of Karthikeyan, conducted an inquiry with the victims and filed a report. The State Human Rights Commission is also conducting a separate investigation.

In this case, the Tamil Nadu government had appointed senior IAS officer Amuda to conduct an investigation into the controversy. Accordingly, he had started the investigation on the 10th. The District Collector and Cheranmahadevi Sub-Collector briefed him about the investigation that had already taken place. Following this, he started an investigation at the Ambasamudram taluk office.

At that time, Ambasamudram Sub-Inspector Mahalakshmi and Head Constable Vincent appeared and gave an explanation. As well as the affected S. Bhuthapandi was also present and testified. In this case, investigation was held in Ambasamudram taluk office as the 2nd phase. At that time, 5 people appeared on behalf of the victims and gave evidence.

It seems that the investigation officer is planning to conduct an investigation with all the parties including the police officers, those who are kept on the waiting list, the victims and also visit the Kallidaikurichi, VK. Puram and Ambasamudram police stations in person.

Meanwhile, the Tirunelveli District Crime Branch has registered a case under sections 324, 326, 506-1 against the dismissed police officer Balveer Singh.
