Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee-Furness continue to prove that happily ever after still exists!
The Hollywood veterans are one of the greatest entertainers of their generations, coming together to form a union that has withstood the test of time. Despite their 13-year age gap, the spouses treat each other with mutual love and respect.
One cannot mention true love without considering the iconic pair, who recently celebrated another milestone in their beautiful relationship. On April 11, the “Wolverine” star marked his 27th wedding anniversary with a heartfelt tribute.
Hugh Jackman Dedicates Sweet Post To Deborra Lee-Furness On Their 27th Wedding Anniversary
Taking to his Instagram page, the “Logan” actor shared a cute picture of himself posing with his longtime partner on a balcony. In the background were skyscrapers that gave off an array of sparkling lights in the night sky.
Flaunting their timeless bond, the duo was wrapped in a warm embrace as they flashed happy smiles for the camera. Jackman captioned this romantic post with his eternal love for the “Voyager” actress.
“I love you Deb. Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. 27 YEARS!!” the Emmy winner began his passionate message. “I love you so much. Together we have created a beautiful family. And life.”
Reflecting on his wife’s best qualities, the smitten husband gushed: “Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage, and loyalty is an incredible gift to me. I love you with all my heart.”
At 67, the Australian beauty is thirteen years older than her beau. However, that little number has not dwindled the love that sparked between the pair in 1995. Per reports, the lovebirds met on the set of ABC’s hit drama series “Correlli.”
The Australian show marked the “X-Men” star’s first role out of drama school, while Lee-Furness was already an accomplished actress. Recalling their first encounter, Jackman confessed that he was immediately attracted to the older entertainer.
However, it took a few weeks before the Oscar nominee confessed his feelings because he felt it would be “unprofessional and embarrassing” to be in love with the lead actress. Eventually, the Hollywood sensation admitted his affections at a dinner party and the blonde echoed similar sentiments.
Four months into their relationship, the “Real Steel” actor popped the big question, leading to the lovebirds’ wedding less than a year after meeting. On April 11, 1996, the duo said their vows at a church outside of Melbourne, Australia.
During a conversation with the news outlet, the Grammy winner revealed that he knew his wife was the woman meant for him. “I knew very early; I knew before Deb knew. Even when she tried to break up with me, I knew,” the 54-year-old claimed.
“She kind of [broke up with me], a little bit. Early on, three weeks in. I managed to talk her out of it, thank God,” Jackman confessed, noting that as an “indecisive person,” he was relieved to have clarity about his future with Lee-Furness even before she did.
Four years after their wedding, the dynamic duo adopted their first child, a son named Oscar. In July 2005, they welcomed a second child via adoption — daughter Ava. Regarding their decision to raise children of different cultures, the “Jindabyne” actress said:
“We completely embrace the ancestors and the extended family; they’re family to us. And it’s in there, even though it’s generational. It may be subtle, but it’s in there.”
The Seed Production Co-Founder Implored Fans To Use Sunscreen In Health Update
Weeks earlier, The Blast reported that the “Eddie the Eagle” actor addressed the importance of sunscreen while sharing a health update. The renowned actor’s well-being has been a difficult topic because of his battle with skin cancer.
The SAG award nominee was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma in 2013 and has since received multiple surgeries to remove cancerous cells from his skin. Following a medical check-up, the Hollywood heartthrob revealed his doctor had discovered small spots that could be basal cell carcinoma.
“I’ll find out in two or three days, and as soon as I know, I’ll let you know,” the Sydney native reassured fans in his social media update before using the opportunity to preach about sunscreen.
According to the “Les Misérables” star, the sunspots on his nose were caused by overexposure 25 years ago. “Put some sunscreen on. You’ll still have an incredible time out there. Alright. Please be safe,” the entertainer advised fans.
