According to Deadline, the series written by Carlton Jordan and Crystle Roberson will follow an afro futuristic secret agent who must hide her true identity while battling against villains who threaten to destroy the Earth and its inhabitants.

Fans can expect something great as the project is definitely in good hands seeing as Jordan has an impressive track record in the entertainment industry. He has been a writer, director, and producer on various popular shows, including Disney FairyTale Weddings for Freeform and Mexican Dynasties for Bravo.

Roberson also has an enviable profile from completing the Sony Diversity Directors Program to directing eight T.V. episodes last year, including Ambitions and Greenleaf for OWN/Lionsgate and American Soul for B.E.T.

The “Candy Shop” rapper, 50 Cent, has also established himself as a prolific producer across various platforms under his production company, G-Unit Film & Television. His most notable project is the Starz hit series “Power,” which he starred in, executive produced, and directed.

Through his prior deal with Starz, he expanded the “Power” universe with spin-offs like “Power Book II: Ghost,” “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” and “Power Book IV: Force.”

Minaj’s move into the movie world started over a decade ago after rising to fame as a judge on “American Idol.” She also cemented herself in the film industry, thanks to her role as a legal assistant in the Nick Cassavetes-directed movie, “The Other Woman,” which was released in 2014 and starred Cameron Diaz in the lead role.

During her 2013 interview with Marie Claire, where she was featured as their August cover artist, the “Superbass” rapper expressed her anxiety about her first significant acting role.

In the magazine feature, the actress considered fully transitioning from a music career to an acting career after releasing a few more albums. In her words:

“One day, when I start getting a couple gray hairs, maybe it will all be only acting. I just never know. I’ve kind of become the poster child for doing the things that no one expects.”

Despite a difficult upbringing, the star began her career in music as a backup singer for aspiring rappers in New York. The Blast reported that she eventually caught the attention of rapper Lil Wayne, who collaborated with her on several mixtape recordings.

After being named the Female Artist of the Year at the Underground Music Awards in 2008, her fame and exposure have continued to grow. This is all thanks to her provocative lyrics, quick-spoken rap style, and ability to switch between different genres.

Now, after two decades of hard work, Minaj’s talent and impact have been recognized as she was among the heavy hitters in the rap game on a list by Billboard. The publication released its “Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time” to commemorate five decades of hip hop.

The “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” artist secured the tenth position, making her the sole female artist in the top ten rankings that featured other legendary rappers such as Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Tupac, and The Notorious B.I.G.
