Greater than seven inches of rain fell on Los Angeles over Sunday and Monday, making it the wettest two-day interval in a long time—about half of the area’s common yearly rainfall poured down in 48 hours. The second storm in a long-duration atmospheric river introduced excessive winds, flooding, and mudslides which have destroyed homes and minimize energy to greater than 1 million folks throughout Southern California.
