Parshottam Rupala, Union minister of animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries, and Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) candidate from Rajkot for the Lok Sabha election, speaks to Nivedita Mookerji in Rajkot about his controversial remarks on the erstwhile maharajas and its affect on Kshatriyas and Rajputs within the Saurashtra area. Edited excerpts:
Voters in Rajkot are upset along with your latest remark. Gained’t that affect the election consequence?
Please meet the voters and ask your self. It’s not true that voters wouldn’t elect the BJP. Solely a floor zero verify will reveal the reality.
Do you may have any remorse?
It was not good (what I mentioned). I’ve already given a public apology on that…
So that you don’t assume the frustration among the many Kshatriyas would present in voting?
Do you assume your social gathering will bag all 26 seats in Gujarat?
Fairly comfortably. It’s the Opposition that created a detrimental atmosphere (mahol bana diya hai) after the comment.
What are the voters’ expectations right here that the BJP will meet?
Do you agree that the 2024 elections are being fought on Model Modi?
Undoubtedly, sure.
What’s your private aspiration now?
I’ll need to work for the general public and do no matter Modiji desires.
What are the portfolios that you’d need when you win and are made a minister?
That’s not even a topic of debate (woh vishay hello nahi hai).
