Tired of using the same set of emoji? Great news. There may be more soon.
On its website, the Unicode Consortium (a non-profit organization that, among many other things, decides which emoji make it onto people’s phones) posted some samples of the next batch of emoji that could come to iOS and Android soon.
As BGR pointed out, the most likely launch period for these is early next year, based on historical precedent.

Which new emojis may come to your phone?
The most important thing to note here is that there is an emoji that has bags under its eyes.
That’s the one that will likely make its way into everyone’s rotation because, with the way the world is going, I wouldn’t be surprised about its frequent usage. Other potential new emoji include a tree with no leaves, a fingerprint, a harp, and a shovel.
Per BGR, these are all part of a beta period that lasts until July 2, after which the Consortium will announce the new official batch of emoji. From there, it’s up to companies like Apple and Google to adopt them on a software level.
If they could just fast-track the baggy eyes one, that would be great.
