It’s not often A-List talent graces the general public with their presence on a budget short-haul flight – unless you happen to be Will Ferrell.
The 56-year-old star is known for countless iconic films from over the years fromBuddy in Christmas hit Elf to the Mattel CEO in summer blockbuster Barbie – there’s very little the comic actor hasn’t achieved in his over 30 year career.
Although most big Hollywood names tend to graduate to private jets after reaching a certain level of fame the same can’t be said for Will who was spotted by some passengers on an Aer Lingus flight from London to Dublin.
That’s right, Will swapped an intimate flight experience for the full commercial airline experience according to X users who confirmed his presence on the one hour 30 minute long flight.
‘On my London to Dublin @AerLingus flight this evening I was beside Will Ferrell.. in a s**t unreserved seat. There we go, [sic]’ @emmaquinlain posted.
They added that although they hadn’t taken any photos with him they ‘chatted with them briefly’ on their way out of the plane.
‘I just couldn’t get my head round the seat but imagine his inbound was delayed,’ the user added.
In response to one shocked commenter, Emma said ‘he’s lovely’ reassuring Will Ferrell fans everywhere that he doesn’t appear to be a Hollywood diva in real life.
Other passengers confirmed he truly was on the flight in the comments including @trevthelegend who claimed Will was in the middle seat, easily the least desirable.
‘I think his parents sat in the front row but you cannot book the middle seat there, and assume rest had already been booked. Very difficult for him to stay inconspicuous though,’ @trevthelegend added.
Envious fans shared their excitement, with one saying ‘that’s so cool’ and another declaring it ‘unreal’.
The Anchorman star has longstanding ties with the UK and recently bought a ‘large stake’ in Championship club Leeds United after ‘falling in love with the English game’, according to the Sun.
He has hopes for Leeds to make it to the Premier League.
Will’s airplane etiquette is refreshing to see after several months of heated discourse around celebrities using private jets due to their bad effect on the environment and clear display of wealth.
At the end of March, Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague was branded ‘selfish’ after posting about her stints on a private jet. Many fans pointed out her carbon footprint after piling up unnecessary air miles.
