The Juno-nominated musician, a former Reginan who now lives in Toronto, is headlining a busy weekend in the Queen City as he closes out the final night of the week-long Cathedral Village Arts Festival, which is free of charge.

1. Andy and the arts
Shauf performs Saturday (9 p.m.) in the Big Top Tent at Holy Rosary Park, joined by fellow Regina folk-rocker Marissa Burwell (8 p.m.), Soil & Grass (7 p.m.), and Connor and the Musicians (6 p.m.).

Friday’s main stage is headlined by Marshall Burns and the Beautiful Band (10 p.m.), along with Shotgun Jimmie (9 p.m.), Jake & the Kid (8 p.m.), Cupid’s Heart (7 p.m.) and Last Birds (6 p.m.).
There are also performances at St. Mary’s Church and Westminster United Church, including The Gene Pool (Jack Semple and his family band) at 8:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Art Gallery of Regina opens a new exhibition, Semiotics of Leisure, on Friday night in conjunction with the festival. It runs through July 27.
The Artesian is also joining the fun with a Friday performance by local surf-music collective The Marmalads (9 p.m.), preceded by a selection of local film screenings and surf-inspired ‘80s flicks.
The Artesian hosts a local comedy night on Saturday (8 p.m.).

2. Tape Face returns to Regina
America’s Got Talent star Sam Wills (aka Tape Face) is bringing his innovative comedy routine to the Casino Regina Show Lounge on Saturday night after a postponement in February.

Tape Face is a prop comic, clown and mine artist who was a finalist on AGT in 2016 and is also coming off a residency at Harrah’s in Las Vegas.
“(Willis) has created one of the most accessible and enjoyable shows the world has ever seen. Mime with noise, stand-up with no talking, drama with no acting. Tape Face has to be seen to be believed,” says a media release.

3. Lyric’s Beauty and the Beast
Regina Lyric Musical Theatre is putting a new spin on a Disney classic with its presentation of Beauty and the Beast.
The Broadway-style musical runs Friday and Saturday (7:30 p.m.) at Darke Hall, in addition to matinees on Saturday and Sunday (1:30 p.m.).
The show features a cast of 40 local performers and is narrated by Regina theatre icon Marianne Woods, who performed in Lyric’s debut show in 1978 at Darke Hall.

4. Right On Cue
On Cue Performance Hub is presenting its latest RISER Regina theatrical production — City, or Stories and Bodies, by Adam Robert Milne.
This “innovative theatrical experience” opened Thursday and runs through May 31. This weekend’s shows are Friday and Saturday (7:30 p.m.) as well as Sunday (2 p.m.) at the University of Regina’s Shu-Box Theatre.

5. Live art exhibition
The Saskatchewan Network for Art Collecting hosts a live exhibition on Friday (5-9 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) at the Westminster United Church gymnasium.
Held in conjunction with the Cathedral festival, this exhibition includes over 100 pieces of art that serve as a preview of the network’s 400-piece online auction featuring work by local, national and international artists.
