“Man, they made me want to go to where they had cars and girls in bikinis … and sun,” Don Was says in the trailer for The Beach Boys documentary. Now streaming on Disney+, the highly anticipated new music doc follows the band’s career over the years with archival clips, rare interviews, and plenty of music in between.
The Beach Boys Disney+ doc marks “a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music, and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations and generations to come,” per a release.
According to Disney+, the doc follows the band’s path from “humble family beginnings and features never-before-seen footage and all-new interviews” from members of the band, including Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, and Bruce Johnston.
The doc also includes archival footage and interviews from the late Carl and Dennis Wilson, along with appearances from artists including Lindsey Buckingham, Ryan Tedder, Janelle Monáe, and Was. Here’s what Beach Boys fans should know about watching the new Disney+ film online.
