Skewed data
In a recent survey conducted by Abacus Data for the chicken, egg, dairy and turkey farmers of Canada, the results were 97% of respondents are in favour of supply management. The first question people were asked on behalf of the aforementioned farmers was: Is it important that eggs, dairy, chicken and turkey is from Canada. Of course, the overwhelming response would be yes. If Abacus Data would have asked: Supply management is a cartel that employs regulated scarcity to keep prices artificially high to benefit the few at the expense of the many. Are you in favour of being gouged at the grocery store? I’m sure the overwhelming response would be no. If you hear or read that 97% of Canadians are in favour of supply management, realize it is a skewed poll and the questions were phrased in such a way that it got the answers it wanted to get.

JEFFREY ANDERSON
(We’ve got to be able to find some sort of middle ground.)
Out of office
In 2015 after his election win, Trudeau loudly proclaimed that Canada is back. Today, after more than eight years of Trudeau leadership, I would add a couple of words to his proclamation. Canada is at the back. Hopefully this country can regain its once-proud place in the eyes of the world when Trudeau and his cronies are finally back where they belong. Out of office.
DOUG BERNARD
(The next election cannot come soon enough. Canadians want change. Only the NDP is keeping us from getting the chance to toss the Liberals.)
Quit or fired
Every morning I open the paper hoping to read TRUDEAU QUITS. While disappointed thus far, I live with the knowledge someday my dream headline will come true.

(‘Trudeau defeated’ also has a nice ring to it.)
Riches everywhere
White privilege is nothing more than a fallacy. Power exists for anybody with enough monetary resources to influence decision -makers. One only has to visit Ellis Island to review those who emigrated to the U.S. The majority were families from all over with few possessions and very little money. Rich and powerful people encompass every race on the planet and use this privilege for their sole benefit.
BILL CHAPMAN
(That is true.)
