Recently, Mahesh Bhatt told The Times of India that the word nepotism was coined as a tool to bring the mighty Bollywood industry to its knees. He continued by saying that there are innumerable hungry, shame-hungry, adulation-seeking young people and this kind of labeling appeals to them.
Bhatt also said that Bhansali should not be shamed for his casting decision as the filmmakers may allow those from their own fraternity or bloodline but after the launch, it is the person’s caliber that helps them reach the height. Bhatt also defended Bhansali by praising his glorious track record of getting the best out of the actors.

Several Heeramandi stars supported Sharmin and slammed netizens for trolling her. Well, in Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan in 2017, Kangana Ranaut had called the filmmaker flag bearer of nepotism. Within no time, the word nepotism spread in Bollywood like wildfire. Soon, outsiders voiced their concerns over filmmakers and producers choosing star kids.
