A man shot and killed two women with a gun before killing himself at a home in Perth’s west on Friday afternoon, police say.
Emergency services responded to reports that a firearm had been discharged at a residence in Floreat at about 4.30pm local time on Friday afternoon.
Two people were found dead at the house, a man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s.
Another woman, aged in her late teens, was transported to Royal Perth hospital with injuries, but police said on Saturday the woman had died.
A neighbour, who spoke to the ABC, described their shock at the incident.
“I drove down that street and the police were more or less outside my house,” the man said. “I was think thinking, ‘wow, this is my house’. It’s a bit shocking. We know our neighbours. They are good people.”
Police declared a crime scene at the property and said there was no ongoing threat to the public.
WA police said on Saturday that homicide squad detectives were investigating the death of the man and two women at the home on Berkeley Crescent.
Police say the man went to the house at about 4.30pm Friday, where the two women were already present.
Police say the man “discharged a firearm”, killing the older woman and critically injuring the younger woman, before killing himself.
St John WA provided emergency treatment to the critically injured younger woman before she was taken to Royal Perth Hospital, where she later died.
Police says the man was known to the older woman “through a mutual contact” and that investigations were ongoing.
