In Wuthering Waves, Echoes are powerful creatures you can equip onto your character to grant you unique skills, buff your damage and healing capabilities, and raise your general stats. Echoes range in power and rarity, but you can improve their abilities further through upgrading and tuning. Here’s how to tune an Echo in your Echoes interface.
How to tune Echoes in Wuthering Waves
Tuning Echoes in Wuthering Waves requires heading into your Resonator menu, choosing an available Echoes, and upgrading it to at least level five. Upon leveling it to five, you’ll unlock the Echo Tuning menu. Here, you’ll find the shell credit and tuning material cost, alongside the changes tuning will make. Tuning an Echo once requires using ten tuner materials that match your Echo’s rarity, which you can get by fighting in Tacet Fields.
However, you won’t be able to tune low-grade green-rarity Echoes to improve their abilities, even if you reach level five. Instead, you must pick at least a blue three-star rarity Echo and their respective tuner.
Once you tune your Echo, they’ll gain a new buff to strengthen them. This can be increased attack, HP, or elemental damage bonus, among others. From here, leveling the Echo further unlocks more tuning slots, giving you additional opportunities to buff the creature. You’ll also complete the Echo tuning quest if it’s active, giving you extra rewards to use however you wish.
How to get Tuner materials in Wuthering Waves
Every Echo tuning attempt requires obtaining tuner materials, which you can get from Tacet fields. The exact type you need depends on the rarity of your Echo. While three-star Echos need Medium Tuner, four-star requires Advanced, which are much harder to find in the wild.
To fight in Tacet Fields, you’ll have to head into your Forgery Challenge menu, choose Tacet Field Cleanup, and pick any available options. Alternatively, you can find their icons on the overworld and manually run over to the area. Clearing a Tacet Field consumes 60 Waveplate, so you won’t have unlimited opportunities to farm these resources.
