PUNE: The Pune city police on Friday night invoked charges of cheating, refusing to sign statements and others against the minir boy’s father, grandfather and others after receiving a statement from the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
The CP said, “We have received a statement from an RTO officer. The car builder bought the car from a dealer in Bengaluru on a temporary registration.It was brought to Pune and taken for inspection to the RTO on Alandi Road in March. But it was not registered with the RTO owing to the non-payment of taxes. It was taken out on the road without paying the taxes. It was an illegal act and the state govt was cheated by non-payment of taxes. We will fix the responsibility in this case after studying the insurance aspects.”
