Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new record for the most goals scored in a Saudi Pro League (SPL) season, netting twice for Al Nassr against Al Ittihad to bring his tally to 35 goals. The 39-year-old Portuguese forward surpassed the previous record of 34 goals, set by Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah in the 2018-19 season, also for Al Nassr. Ronaldo achieved this milestone in his second season with the Saudi club, following his transfer from Manchester United in January 2023.
Despite Al Hilal clinching the SPL title with three games remaining, Ronaldo and his teammates will have another opportunity for silverware as they face Al Hilal in the King Cup of Champions final.
