Julie Wilson Nimmo is best known for starring in Balamory but now has a very different side hustle.
The children’s TV star, who played Miss Hoolie on the CBeebies show, runs a wild swimming and yoga workshop.
Julie juggles her classes, which take place every Sunday across over eight locations in Scotland, with her on-screen career.
Since shooting to fame on Balamory, Julie has continued to star in shows including BBC comedy series Scot Squad and and Olga Da Polga.
She has also worked as a stand-in presenter on Bauer Network’s Ewen and Cat at Breakfast and recently featured in a BBC Scotland documentary celebrating 100 years of broadcasting.
Earlier this year, Julie’s former co-stars Kim Tserkerzie and Miles Jupp, who starred as Penny Pocket and inventor Archie respectively on Balamory, sent the internet into meltdown after reuniting.
Kim shared a picture of herself alongside Miles on X and captioned the post: ‘I adore this man so much! Joyous to catch up with the fabulous Miles Jupp. He’s on tour at the mo! Go see him if you can!’
The reunion delighted Balamory fans, with Irene M Blair raving: ‘Lovely to see your 2 smiling faces this morning. Love and big hugs to you both xxx.’
‘That is awesome, Kim! I always wish you the best,’ Noah Baigent added.
Former Balamory cast member Andrew Agnew, who played PC Plum, also recently got nostalgic about his time on the show on social media.
The actor posted an unseen photo of the cast during their first day of filming outside the vibrantly painted restaurant The Mishnish.
The 47-year-old had his arms around Miles and Kim, as well as Julie Wilson Nimmo (Miss Hoolie), Juliet Cadzow (Edie McCredie), Rodd Christensen (Spencer The Painter) and the late Mary Riggans (Suzie Sweet).
The photo also included actress turned fashion designer Buki Akib, who played Josie Jump in the early series of the show, and was later replaced by Kasia Haddad.
The caption on the throwback snap was: ‘Were we ever that young? This is the #Balamory gang outside the The Mish Nish in #Tobermory during our first visit, while filming in 2002. So great to see us all together out of costume. Always smiling #pcplum. I’m sure we went straight into that pub after this photo was taken’ signing off with a laughing emoji.’
Set on a fictional island off the west coast of Scotland, Balamory followed the lives of eight central characters, who all wore a distinctive colour of clothing and live in a house of the same colour.
The live-action series ran for four series on the broadcaster from 2002 until 2005 and was also renowned for its songs, including the theme tune What’s the Story in Balamory?.
