Reigning champions England showcased a superb all-round performance to secure a seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in the fourth T20I at The Oval on Thursday. After winning the toss, England elected to field and successfully restricted Pakistan to a modest total of 157 runs. Leg-spinner Adil Rashid, named player of the match, was instrumental with the ball, taking 2-27 in his allotted four overs.
England’s chase was marked by a rapid and aggressive start. Opener Phil Salt scored 45 runs, while captain Jos Buttler added 39, together putting up a formidable 82-run partnership within the first seven overs. Despite a commendable effort from Pakistan’s Haris Rauf, who claimed 3-38, England’s batting depth proved too strong.
The match concluded in emphatic fashion as Harry Brook hit a six off Rauf to seal the victory, with England finishing at 158-6, achieving the target with more than three overs to spare. This win secured a 2-0 series triumph for England, with the first two matches at Headingley and Cardiff being washed out due to rain.
