A video has gone viral on social media showing Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon and her driver in a heated confrontation with an angry crowd outside her residence on Carter Road, Bandra. The altercation began after Tandon’s driver was accused of hitting a woman and assaulting three others who confronted him.
In the video, Raveena Tandon is seen attempting to calm the gathered crowd but is allegedly pushed and hit. The actress can be heard pleading, “please don’t hit me.” According to an FPJ report, Tandon was reportedly in a drunken state and was accused of abusing and assaulting the victims. One victim is heard saying, “My nose is bleeding. You will have to spend the night in jail,” while another threatens, “You have assaulted. I will go to the police.”
The Khar Police stated that no injuries were reported, and there was no evidence of rash or drunk driving. No FIR was filed, but a station data entry was made. The video suggests a different scenario, with the complainant alleging that Tandon’s driver abused and assaulted his mother and daughter, leading to a crowd of angry residents gathering and allegedly attacking the driver.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 9) Raj Tilak Roushan mentioned that the complainants, identified as Mohammed and Tando, approached the police on Saturday night and reached a compromise, opting not to press for the registration of an FIR. Mohsin Shaikh, a relative of the alleged victim, claimed in a video that Tandon’s driver hit his mother and began assaulting them when questioned. Shaikh also alleged that Tandon, who was in a drunken state, joined in the assault. They reportedly spent four hours at the Khar Police Station, but no complaint was filed.
Raveena Tandon, a renowned Bollywood actress, has received several awards, including a National Film Award, two Filmfare Awards, and a Filmfare OTT Award. She was also honored with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian award, in 2023. Tandon was last seen in “Patna Shuklla” and is currently shooting for “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Ghudchadi.”
