A weekend death is now being classified by Regina police as the city’s second homicide of 2024.
A news release sent out Monday by the Regina Police Service (RPS) indicates that a determination was made by police in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
It states that, on June 1 at around 6:30 a.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Reynolds Street after a report of an injured man. The man was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

“Next of kin have been notified and the name of the deceased will not be released at this time,” the release states, without any explanation as to why the man’s name hasn’t been released.
It goes on to state that the investigation is ongoing and asks anyone with any information to contact the RPS at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
