Outlander star Sam Heughan has welcomed Taylor Swift to Scotland for the next leg of the Eras Tour with a dramatic profession of love.
The mega star, currently dating Travis Kelce, has arrived in Edinburgh to kick off the highly-anticipated UK stint of her sold-out tour celebrating her acclaimed 18-year-long career which has seen the release of 11 original albums.
But as fans flock to Edinburgh to catch her opening night, there is one famous face who is truly shooting his shot.
Sam, 44, is best known for his role as Jamie Fraser in hit Starz historical drama Outlander where he plays a Scottish soldier and landowner who has captured everyone’s heart with his dashing looks, effortless charm and noble heart.
But the internet’s boyfriend now has his sights set on the Shake It Off hitmaker as she touches down on this side of the pond as he shared in a new video on his Instagram.
‘We’re going to go see Taylor Swift play in Scotland and I think most of the cast is going,’ he told the camera while dressed in his quintessential period costume.
‘She obviously doesn’t know this, but when she comes to Scotland and she sees me in the audience, she’s going to forget all about … him [Kelce] and fall for a man in a ginger wig.
‘How can she resist?’ Heughan added before slipping in a classic Taylor pun. ‘She’s going to shake him off and take me out instead. I’m really excited!’
He ended the video by making a sweetheart gesture with his hands. And, of course, the clip was set to Taylor’s hit song Ready For It during the verse where she sings about ‘stealing hearts and never saying sorry’.
Fans shared their amusement in the comments.
‘I love it when famous people are fans of other famous people. We are all just human after all. I hope you get to meet her in person, Sam,’ @firstwife71 commented.
‘I’m s****ing myself this is too funny,’ @breejstrachan added.
‘So funny! I love this and literally this same thing runs through all our heads when we see you! Haha!’ @annabananasplit20 wrote.
The Grammy-winning artist officially started dating the Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis in September 2023 and the loved-up couple have been spotted supporting one another on the field and in the arena countless times since then.
The new romance came just months after the 34-year-old singer ended her six-year relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn.
But Sam’s courtship is simply following in the footsteps of the athlete himself, who attempted to woo Taylor in July last year with a friendship bracelet he made for her while attending the Eras Tour.
‘We started hanging out right after that,’ the billionaire singer told Time.
‘So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.
‘By the time I went to that first game [in September 2024], we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.’
As for the Scottish actor, his relationship status remains up in the air.
As of May 2023, the Hollywood heartthrob was still single but told People he was still a ‘romantic at heart’.
‘I’ve done all of the gift-giving and turning up when least expected, but, so far, I’m still looking,’ he said.
However, last month he was spotted strolling through London with an unidentified woman holding hands.
The Eras Tour takes place in Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium from June 7 to June 9 before heading to the rest of the UK.
