Former BBC Radio Wales presenter Carol Vorderman has teased a dramatic return to the broadcaster in a new social media video. The ex-Countdown star will appear on BBC One’s Have I Got News for You tomorrow evening.
Carol, 63, was sacked from her popular radio show for breaking new social media guidelines back in November, 2023. She has since claimed her former employer sacked her “within 24 hours” of breaking the strict guidelines.
Taking to Instagram today, Carol revealed her comeback to the BBC in view of her 614,000 followers. In a new video, she said: “I’m on my way to the Have I Got News for You studio, which I’m very excited about.
“It’s on tomorrow night,” the star continued, before flashing her fans a cheeky grin. “I think I’ve got a lot to say,” she added with a chuckle.
In the caption, she echoed the sentiment, expressing: “I think I might have a lot to say. Can’t wait X.”
Have I Got News for You is a comedy panel show that focuses on the week’s top news stories.
While guests and panellists on the show are allowed to express their political opinions, the show’s aim is to stay politically neutral.
Carol got into trouble with the BBC for loudly expressing her contempt for the current Conservative government, so fans will undoubtedly be intrigued to see what she has to say.
Taking to the comments, a number of Carol’s friends and colleagues supported her ahead of the special appearance.
“Can’t ruddy wait,” BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball commented with a kissing emoji, while This Morning’s Josie Gibson wrote: “[Love] YOU” (sic)
“Good luck, Carol, we believe in you!” one fan penned supportively, while another wrote: “OMG!!!! Can’t wait either.” (sic)
“I’m watching,” one more fan wrote, before suggesting: “Need to see you on question time.” (sic)
Have I Got News for You airs tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
