Re “Graduating to energy” (Brian Lilley, June 7): With respect, I disagree that Stephen Lecce was sufficiently aggressive in the education portfolio. He may fare better in energy, where there are not as many social issues. Todd Smith needs to revolutionize our education system. Ontario students are arguably our greatest asset. Education, particularly in math and sciences, is slipping relative to global standards. I challenge Smith to end the school board woke tyranny. Defund them. Allow principals greater authority to manage schools. Give teachers the curriculum employed by more successful countries. Ensure parents have a strong voice in the education of their children.

TRUMP ON THE RISE
In response to Donald Trump’s conviction in the New York hush-money case, Jonah Goldberg writes (June 9) that “if opinions indicated by the latest polling hold, one could plausibly argue the verdict will cost Trump the election.” Which opinions? Whose opinions? Goldberg is a noted critic of Trump, having appeared on various “leftist” shows like CNN, MSNBC, Bill Maher, etc. And as I watch thousands and thousands gather in Las Vegas for yet another jam-packed MAGA rally and as the windfall of small donations to Trump continues to skyrocket upward, I cannot help but wonder if Goldberg is afflicted by wishful thinking.

(So many pundits couldn’t figure out how Trump could win in 2016 and here we are again in 2024 and with everything that has happened they are still scratching their heads over how the former president can garner so much support from all corners.)
LIBERALS HAVE TO GO
I love my country. The current government hates it. Every day, this corrupt government gets worse and worse. Throwing every Liberal out of government is not enough anymore. Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland need to be charged with treason. I think they cover up scandals and shield people from the truth, which I, as a citizen of this country, have the right to know. Someone can put this government away with what they know. Blow the whistle on these useless people!
