Just two athletes in this multi-class individual medley, and it’s Tokyo Paralympic roommates Ahmed Kelly and Grant ‘Scooter’ Patterson.
Kelly touches the wall first and is just under the qualifying time. That means he’s off to Paris to compete in his fourth Paralympics.
Speaking after the race, he said he is eager to swim in front of crowds again after the Covid-19 affected Tokyo Olympics.
“It sounds great. It’s been a lot of hard work, back to go to Paris for some redemption,” Kelly said.
“Silver in Tokyo with no one in the stadium just about, so really looking forward to Paris.”
