New Delhi, June 12, 2024: Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of a man in Bengaluru, Karnataka. His girlfriend, Pavithra Gowda, has also been detained as an accused in the case.
Who is Pavithra Gowda?
Pavithra Gowda is a Kannada actress known for her roles in films and television, including appearances in Chatrigalu Saar Chatrigalu, Agamya, and Preethi Kithabu. She debuted in Kollywood in 2016 with the movie 54321. Apart from acting, Gowda is a model and artist, as per her Instagram bio. She has recently ventured into fashion design, managing her boutique named Red Carpet Studio 777, which specializes in traditional sarees and outfits.
Earlier this year, Gowda caused a stir on social media by sharing a video celebrating “10 years of our relationship” with Thoogudeepa, despite his 20-year marriage to Vijaya Lakshmi.
Details of the Case
The body of Renuka Swamy, 33, a resident of Chitradurga, was found at the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. Police sources indicate that Swamy had posted offensive comments on Gowda’s social media account, accusing her of causing a rift between Thoogudeepa and his wife. He allegedly used objectionable language and harassed her. These interactions are being considered potential motives for the murder.
A total of 13 people, including Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavithra Gowda, have been arrested in connection with the case. The investigation continues as authorities work to uncover further details about the incident.
