Jane McDonald shared the wild tale behind her first time having sex while appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox.
The latest episode had the pairs of celebrities react to one of the most highly anticipated sex scenes on TV: the mirror scene shared between Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) in Bridgerton season three part two.
The scene is clearly Penelope’s first time going all the way as Colin helps her navigate the auspicious and tender moment.
As the celebs turned their gazes away from the TV, 61-year-old TV personality Jane posed a question to her best friend, and former backing singer, Sue Ravey who she lives with in Wakefield.
‘Do you remember your first time?’ she asked, to which Sue replied: ‘No it’s been too long since.’
Jane continued: ‘Mine were in the back of a Vauxhall. No hang on, one of them vans and someone were nicking petrol out of it at the time.’
Despite the shocking crime going down at the same time as the star losing her virginity, these antics were clearly run of the mill for Jane as Sue simply gave a nonchalant shrug.
‘Oh well there you go,’ she said.
The admission comes after Jane showed off her rather large glass wine earlier on in the episode which fits a whole bottle inside.
The singer has been open about her love life throughout her career, which was kickstarted after she appeared on BBC show The Cruise in 1998.
After breaking up with her teenage sweetheart and drummer Walter “Eddie” Rothe, the star went on to marry a man named Paul in 1986. She divorced him just a year later in 1987.
In 1998 she married Henrik Brixen, a plumbing engineer on The Cruise, but the two of them got divorced in 2003 after he made ‘enemies’ in the industry that would have affected Jane’s career.
In 2008, destiny brought Jane and Eddie together once more after his band The Searchers appeared on This Morning while Jane was presenting Loose Women nearby.
After a fulfilling 13-year relationship in which they got engaged, Eddie died following a lung cancer diagnosis in April 2021.
When asked if she would consider dating again by Denise Welch at the end of last year, Jane said ‘no’.
‘I was very blessed to have a great relationship, and I feel as though my life doesn’t need a man to complete it,’ she added.
‘I’m not saying I’m never going to date again, that would be lovely, but I don’t feel like I need someone in my life to make it complete.’
