Eamonn Holmes is reportedly set to be offered a whopping £250,000 to appear on a huge reality show.
Celebrity Big Brother bosses are said to be eying him up for the next series, after the likes of Fern Britton, Nikita Kuzmin, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh appeared on the programme this year, with David Potts going on to win.
This comes after Eamonn’s split from wife Ruth Langsford after 14 years of marriage.
The Loose Women star, 64, and GB News presenter Eamonn, also 64, confirmed they are in the process of divorcing late last month, with reports stating work commitments had resulted in the TV duo drifting in ‘different directions’.
Since then, they’ve said little about their split, though he’s returned to his presenting role and thanked fans for support as Ruth continues taking a break from Loose Women.
Amid all the life changes, it’s now been said Eamonn is at the top of the list for Celebrity Big Brother bosses, with a source claiming: ‘Celebrity Big Brother bookers are drawing up a wish list of contestants and Eamonn is on it. They would love for him to take part as he’d be such a popular housemate.
‘Eamonn’s health concerns are something they would take into account and, when they package up an offer, they would make assurances to him that he would be looked after in the house.
‘The offer would be a meaty six-figure sum, around £250,000, to try and tempt him in.’
The insider added to The Sun: ‘Eamonn has always been wanted for Celebrity Big Brother but has never wanted to take part. His split with Ruth and the fact he had to sell his house in Belfast to pay a huge tax bill makes the bookers think his head could be turned.’
Eamonn’s health struggles have seen him using a walking frame out in public recently, after being open about suffering from chronic pain, having suffered from back issues for several years.
The former This Morning presenter slipped three discs in 2021 and lost ‘full mobility’.
He then underwent spinal surgery the following year, which left him off air for almost four months as he recovered.
Ruth spoke of his health issues just days before announcing their split, telling Women’s Weekly: ‘I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve. We live in hope.
‘He does the physio, but there might have to be some acceptance that this might never be 100% right.
‘With any care situation – and there are millions of carers in this country – it isn’t always easy. It’s testing but we manage as a family.’
In 2018, Eamonn reportedly rubbished claims he turned down £800,000 for a stint on Celebrity Big Brother.
‘The words you will never hear from my lips are: “I don’t need the money,”‘ he is reported to have said.
He also added, according to The Mirror, that Ruth ‘doesn’t allow me to do it’, with his then-wife quipping: ‘No I just think they’d have you in your pants snoring.’

Celebrity Big Brother is available to watch on ITVX.
