A Tecumseh man took home $1 million after he matched seven numbers on the March 15 Lotto Max ENCORE draw.
Keith Ford, a retail worker, told Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation officials he has played the lottery for 10 years.
“I always add ENCORE,” Ford said, while picking up his winnings at the OLG prize centre in Toronto.
The 45-year-old discovered his win while checking his tickets at the Zehrs grocery store on Manning Road in Tecumseh, where he purchased the winning ticket.

“The clerk scanned my ticket and told me OLG would be calling in a few minutes,” he said. “When I saw the prize amount, it was surreal.
“There are no words to describe this. It’s just shocking.”
Ford said he plans to invest and travel with his winnings.
An Essex man was the winner of a $100,000 prize on an Instant Bingo Doubler play.
John Pelat purchased his winning ticket at the Esso Station on University Avenue in Windsor.
A LaSalle great-grandfather was revealed two weeks ago as the winner of a $350,000 Instant Crossword Extreme ticket draw.
In January, a Windsor woman became an instant millionaire when she won one of the top prizes in the OLG’s Instant Ultimate lottery draw after purchasing a $100 ticket at Loblaws on Dougall Avenue. Forty $1-million top prizes were drawn.
Last June, Windsor resident Jay Jayasinghe bought a winning Lotto Max ticket and pocketed $35 million. A Dodge Charger Hellcat and a trip across Canada were some of the ways the multimillionaire said he planned on starting to spend his jackpot winnings.
