Re: ‘Absolutely criminal’: Singh, June 16
Jagmeet Singh, unlike Elizabeth May, is not relieved after reading the same National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians report on foreign interference that she did. Singh expresses grave concern over the PM’s clearly lackadaisical attitude, and virtual non-response, to interference.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s longstanding reluctance to call any inquiry to investigate the issue; the sham and not impartial David Johnston rapporteur effort; and Trudeau’s lack of co-operation in supplying documents to the Hogue inquiry all contribute to mounting unease and disquiet in growing numbers of Canadians over foreign interference and undue influence in our domestic politics. In essence, what is he or the Liberals hiding?

Then there’s Singh’s response to not being relieved. Will he push Trudeau to take more direct and definitive action to address concerns from the report, under threat of withdrawing NDP support of a directionless government?
No. His position remains, “We (the NDP) will push him to …”
That NDP position is really wearing thin. Canadians are weary of this self-serving “let’s get to that magic pension-qualifying date” approach. It is doubtful that Singh will understand this, but, by continually letting Trudeau off the hook, he only lowers his credibility to the same deplorable levels as Trudeau and his sorry Liberals.
Push the prime minister with an ultimatum. Do “X” or face an election!

CRIME — NOT CLIMATE — EMERGENCY

Contrary to the Gaia worshippers at city hall, this town does not have a climate emergency; it has a crime emergency. Instead of spending tons of taxpayer money on dopey green initiatives that will do absolutely nothing but raise taxes, the city should be concentrating on more money for law enforcement.
The latest Lowertown shooting is just one of many that has plagued the capital in recent years, with no end in sight. Ottawa’s new night mayor will have his hands full unless things change.

HELPING THEMSELVES
So once again our socialist Liberal/NDP government, along with the ever-self-absorbed Bloc Québécois, have voted to help themselves to the working man and woman’s pocket by taxing property that we have already paid taxes on when we bought it, pay taxes on yearly and paid on 50 per cent of the gain when we sold it. Now they are grabbing 17 per cent more?
Taxpayers need to wake up!
