France’s finance ministry has asked a court to fine retailer Carrefour SA €200 million ($215 million) over contracts with franchisee stores that it says were unbalanced in its favor, Reuters reported citing La Lettre. Investigations by the ministry’s General Directorate for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control had found that several firms in the group engaged in practices contrary to the French Commercial Code.
