Re: LCBO workers vote for strike mandate, June 18
The well-paid LCBO employees have now voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action. Really? It is time for the province to shut this behemoth of an organization for good.
Privatize the whole works. Let Costco, Walmart and fancy booze boutiques sell the hard liquor and fancy wines. Meanwhile have management run the operation and hire people who will gladly work for far less.
Let them walk the picket line until November.

SINGH JUST PRETENDING
Jagmeet Singh is nothing more than a socialist hypocrite, pretending to have the people’s interests at heart, yet the only interest he truly protects is his own.
If he had the people’s interests at heart, he would have let this government fail a long time ago instead of helping the Liberals implement poorly thought-out policies that helped very little, but cost a lot, under the guise that he had accomplished something.

POOR NAME CHOICE
Re: LILLEY: Forcing Pride on Catholic schools isn’t diversity, online, June 14
I think a problem for some Catholics is that the gay rights movement chose to name itself after one of the seven deadly sins. Several decades ago, flying a flag celebrating Pride would have been no more acceptable than flying a flag celebrating lust or gluttony.
If the movement had called itself Justice or Equality, its flag might have been more acceptable.

HEALTHY NEWSPAPERS NEEDED

Newspapers are bound by legalities, facing potential lawsuits if printing falsehoods, but social media prints people’s lies and faces no legal peril.
Democracies need healthy newspapers to counteract social media lies while also demanding answers about MPs potentially aiding foreign powers.
