Canada Day is just around the corner and, for many, that means shutting down shop for the weekend and heading out to spend some time with family and loved ones.
Here’s what you need to know about what’s open and closed this long weekend.
Transit
Public transit will be scheduled as per the Sunday schedule, which can be found here. Paratransit service will operate between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The transit agency’s information centre and RIDEline will be closed for the holiday.
Malls
Victoria Square Shopping Centre will be open from 12 p.m. to 5p.m. on Monday and normal hours for the rest of the weekend. The same goes for Northgate Mall and Southland Mall.
City attractions
Wascana Centre will be open all day with a bevvy of Canada Day activities from which to choose for locals and tourists, starting with a free pancake breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
Royal Saskatchewan Museum will observe its usual hours and remain open between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday.
The RCMP Heritage Centre is hosting a free Canada Day event from 2 to 5 p.m. It’s for all ages with a range of activities from face painting to obstacle courses.
The MacKenzie Art Gallery will be closed on Monday but is maintaining normal hours for the rest of the weekend.
Government House will host its annual Canada Day celebration from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a slew of stage performances, exhibits and tours for all ages to enjoy.
Saskatchewan Science Centre will keep its usual hours during the weekend and remain open between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Alcohol
All Sobeys locations will be open between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Canada Day.
Groceries
Costco will be closed for Canada Day but will remain open during the rest of the weekend from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
All Sobeys and Safeway locations will be open between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Canada Day.
Crawford’s No Frills will be closed for Canada Day.
City services
The gates to Riverside Memorial Park and Regina cemeteries will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Northwest Leisure Centre will remain closed for its annual shutdown until Wednesday, July 3.
The Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre will be open between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The Sportplex-Fieldhouse & Lawson Aquatic Centre will be open between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Where can I watch the fireworks for Canada Day?
