A tentative deal has been reached between the Windsor Public Library and CUPE Local 2067.1, according to City officials.
In a news release, the city announced Sunday afternoon a deal was reached.
Officials said no further details will be released until a ratification vote is held by the membership and the Windsor Public Library Board reviews the details.
CUPE represents staff at the city’s public library branches. They include Central, Bridgeview, Budimir, Fountainebleau, Forest Glade/Optimist, John Muir, Riverside, Seminole and W.F. Chisholm branches.
Libraries will remain open during regularly scheduled hours.
Seventy members of CUPE Local 2067.01 would have been in in a legal strike position as of midnight Sunday.
In March, they voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike mandate, with 96 per cent of the 75 per cent of participating members supporting the measure.
