Provincial police have taken a man into custody after he barricaded himself inside a McGregor residence for several hours.
Police were called to a Parkside Drive address in the village of McGregor, which borders Essex and Amherstburg, around 1 a.m. Monday.
Sgt. Ed Sanchuk posted two videos on the OPP’s X accounts, saying emergency crews responded to the call just after 1:15 a.m. Monday.
Negotiations continued with the man into the morning hours.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., police posted on social media that they had taken the 39-year-old man into custody.
No other details were released and police have not said if charges are to be laid against the man.
During the incident, police stated there was no threat to the public.
