A Sydney psychologist has been charged with the sexual assault of a patient at various health practices over a period of seven years.
Detectives picked up the 79-year-old man on Thursday over the alleged assault of a male patient between 2012 and 2019.
The psychologist was taken to Balmain Police Station where he was charged with five counts of aggravated indecent assault and one count of aggravated sexual touching.
“Police will allege he indecently assaulted the male patient, aged between 40 and 47 at the time, at the various health practices in Waverton, Kirribilli, Rozelle and Balmain,” police said in a media release.
The man has been granted police bail to appear before the Downing Centre Local Court next month.
