Within The First Descendant, each character has a hefty kit of attacks and weapons at their disposal. Outside of each of the three weapons you choose, there are four separate abilities, including a powerful ultimate ability. One ability, however, has secret functionality and requires you to meet conditions to use it.
If you’re looking to unlock all of your potential, here’s what a Charged Subattack is in The First Descendant, and how to use it.
How to use a Charged Sub Attack in The First Descendant
Charged Sub Attacks can be enabled using a default Module on your Descendant. Once you have the Module, perform a melee attack using either the F key or the L1 + R1/LT + RT buttons. This will perform a different type of melee that then goes on cooldown, making any melee attacks performed in that time function as standard melees. Once it’s recharged, you can use it again.
For example, Bunny has the default Module Shock Punch, which causes her Charged Sub Attack to shock whatever target she hits with it. She can do this once every five seconds or so, though ideally shouldn’t be in melee range of targets to begin with. Someone like Ajax will make much better use of meleeing due to his tankiness. As such, choose the Charged Sub Attack Module on your Descendant, depending on your playstyle.
Can you get new Charged Sub Attacks?
It is possible to get new Modules that give different Charged Sub Attacks. These will drop from different enemies across the game, so you simply need to play as you normally do until an enemy drops it or you find a mission that has a chance to drop one.
