Data from Taiwan’s Insurance Bureau showed that the local insurance sector posted a pre-tax profit of nearly $5.5 billion at the end of May, MSN reported. Nonlife insurance companies reported a pre-tax profit of $390 million, nearly five times more than the prior year.
