Spanish insurer Mapfre SA’s reinsurance unit, Mapfre Re, is opening a new branch in Beijing, China, Cromatica News reported. The reinsurer recently received approval from China’s National Financial Regulatory Administration. The company already has a direct presence in Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines.
