Days after a canoe overturned on Helene Lake, a missing teenager has been found dead, says the Turtleford/Glaslyn RCMP.
On Wednesday night, the craft overturned near a boat launch on the lake, which is located just north of the Battlefords. One of the canoe’s occupants, a teen boy, did not resurface.
For the next two days, the local RCMP searched for the missing boy with help from the RCMP’s remotely piloted aircraft and underwater recovery team, along with members from nearby detachments.
