CANADA CATCHING ON — FINALLY

All Albertans can celebrate that “All Hat, No Cattle” Justin Trudeau has decided to skip the Calgary Stampede.
Trudeau is not liked in Alberta. Trudeau is not wanted in Alberta. Trudeau is not welcome in Alberta.
The good news from polls and the recent Fortress Toronto byelection is that Canada is starting to agree with Alberta … finally!

WON’T FIND PARKING MOVE HELPS
Re: Parking fees accelerating, July 3
Between rising food prices, mortgages, rents and a litany of other increases, including taxes, you seriously have to wonder whether there is anyone at Ottawa City Hall who has a clue. People aren’t going to many areas because of the rising crime rates and useless, unreliable city transportation. Increasing most of the parking rates isn’t going to help; if anything, it will deter even more people from accessing the businesses in those areas.

If the city is that desperate for revenue, may I suggest it stop funding special-interest groups as well as projects that weren’t necessary (new library) or that don’t work (LRT).
I would appreciate it if city councillors would stop and think now and again. We pay taxes and they have a fiduciary responsibility to use those dollars wisely.

‘DELIVERING’ NOTHING GOOD
I wish I had a dollar for every time Justin Trudeau spouted his broken record that the Liberals will continue to “deliver” for Canadians. Other than wracking up the whopping national debt, here’s some of what he has delivered so far: inflation rates not seen in decades; an increase in crime, drug use, homelessness and use of food banks; overwhelming, unsustainable immigration; multiple scandals; bloated, inefficient bureaucracies; and outrageous waste of taxpayer dollars.

Trudeau’s abysmal record will be his lasting legacy.

BYLAW BULLIES
Re: City issues 852 parking tickets, four bylaw charges on Canada Day, online, July 3
Wow, wasn’t that nice of them? Close to 1,000 tickets were issued on our national holiday. Yes, some no doubt were warranted, but that many? Obviously the city places cash above anything or anyone else.
Ottawa is known as the city that fun forgot, and the brain trust on Laurier Avenue are making sure that it remains that way. Talk about bylaw bullies.
