Edmonton Oilers player Connor McDavid and his fiancée Lauren Kyle shared details on social media ahead of their wedding on Monday. But rather than focusing on the menu or place setting, many people were concerned about an apparent sunburn on the hockey player’s face.
Kyle revealed that she and McDavid were at a tasting for their upcoming nuptials in a series of photos posted to Instagram stories. “Had our wedding tasting tonight,” she wrote.
In one photo, she showed the menu items they would be trying that evening. The list included sushi pizza, birria quesadilla, chicken drumette, pork belly satay, spicy falafel, wild mushroom flatbread and wagyu tartar. Other options were gazpacho, and a tomato and burrata salad.
Finally, Kyle shared a photo of her and McDavid posing with some drinks at the tasting. Users on Reddit couldn’t help but point out McDavid’s sunburned face.
“This cracked me up,” one person wrote. “How much does he make a year and can’t apply sunscreen?”
“McSunburn,” another person said, apparently referring to the red hue of the hockey player’s face.
One person pointed out that their wedding was expected to be on the 27th.
“Hopefully Connor’s learns how to use sunscreen by then,” someone else replied.
