Port Windsor said Ghanam is rejoining the board at an “exciting time” with Ontario launching its first Marine Strategy, a 10-year plan to expand the province’s marine transportation network.
“Locally, we are investing in the creation of short-sea shipping of containers to move Windsor-Essex products to the world and provide direct access to the supplies necessary for local production and sale,” Port Windsor said in a media release.
Port Windsor said Ghanam brings nearly two decades of university teaching in management and 30 years of business experience to the board, including organizational training, strategic planning, and HR expertise through her consulting company.
Ghanam recently acted as an adjudicator with the Human Right Tribunal of Ontario, and also served as a board member at St. Clair College and the Windsor Police Service.
She has an Honours Commerce degree in finance, an MBA in business strategy, and doctoral studies in Human Resources. She holds the Certified Human Resource Leader (CHRL) designation and volunteered as president and past president with the executive board of the HR Professionals Association.
Ghanam’s community roles include director of her church choir for almost 20 years, board member of Actors Theatre of Windsor, founding member of the Windsor-Essex Equity Network, and working with the Naval Veterans Association.
