Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir: An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter Scale struck Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The National Center for Seismology reported that the tremors were felt around 12:26 PM.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km. The National Center for Seismology provided the following details: “EQ of M: 4.1, On: 12/07/2024 12:26:24 IST, Lat: 34.32 N, Long: 74.34 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir.”
This seismic event follows a more significant quake that occurred on Thursday. A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck Tofino, Canada, as reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). This quake had a depth of 8 km and was centered about 130 miles from Tofino, a small district on Vancouver Island. Approximately 2,000 residents in Tofino may have experienced light shaking. The quake, initially estimated at a magnitude of 6.5, was later downgraded to 6.4. The USGS confirmed that there was no risk of a tsunami following the event.
