Monty Don‘s fans noticed something interesting about one of his photos as he issued an update on Gardeners’ World.
The 69-year-old revealed he is currently filming the next series of the hit BBC programme, sharing a behind-the-scenes snap on his Instagram on Monday (July 16). Alongside an image of the cameraman, Monty wrote: “Filming for GW on the Mound this morning.”
However, it was another snap that caught the attention of his followers. The presenter’s Herefordshire garden features heavily on his social media.
Monty and his wife, Sarah, have spent more than 30 years working on their garden, which has been a home to the couple, their three children and beloved dogs.
The two-acre space is divided into several different areas, including the Cottage Garden, the Jewel Garden and the Vegetable Garden. A few days ago, the broadcaster gave his one million followers a fresh look at the Cottage Garden.
His golden retriever Ned could be seen at the bottom of the photo as he pointed the camera down the symmetrical pathway, surrounded by greenery.
As they gazed into the distance, Monty’s followers noticed something unique at the end of the grounds. The large hedge at the bottom of the garden appeared to be in the shape of a heart – and fans went wild over it.
“Do you see the heart?” asked one fan. A second penned: “You have a heart at the top.” Another pointed out: “I love how it appears to have a heart in the distance.”
Meanwhile others commented several red heart emojis underneath the post. It comes after BBC Radio 2 presenter Tina Daheley paid an emotional tribute to Monty on his birthday.
The horticulturist was showered with love on his 69th birthday after a surprise cake made an appearance during his show at Kew The Music festival.
While gracing the stage at London’s Kew Gardens for his ‘In Conversation With’ appearance on Monday night (July 8), Monty was in for a treat, courtesy of newsreader Tina.
The event turned into a mini-birthday bash as Tina brought him a special cake, made by the The Botanical Brasserie at Kew. The beloved gardener was delighted as thousands of attendees began singing happy birthday.
