Aon PLC has set up a fund to raise more than $50,000 for a scholarship program honoring the late Rick Miller, the company’s property practice leader.
Aon said it is partnering with the Spencer Educational Foundation to establish the Rick Miller Property Risk Management Scholarship to support risk management and insurance students.
Recipients will be selected based on academic performance, leadership qualities and dedication to pursuing a career in insurance, an Aon statement said.
“The scholarship fund will not only offer financial support but also provide recipients with lifelong career support, mentorship opportunities and a chance to attend Aon’s Property Symposium annually,” the statement said.
Mr. Miller, who died in April, joined Aon in 2005 and ran the property symposium for 15 years.
Aon will make most of the contributions to the fund, but contributions from others are also being accepted. An Aon spokesman said the initial target is $50,000, but the aim is to grow the fund over time.
