Capybara Games’ brutal match-three puzzler Grindstone is getting a brand new update with over a hundred more levels for you to hack ‘n’ slash your way through! You may remember Capybara from the classic Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, and with Grindstone there’s now a whole new lot of content to enjoy with the new Mystical Mayhem update!
Like we said, Grindstone is a match-three with a, well, not necessarily a twist so much as a gouge, a hack, a slash if you will. You play as a nameless barbarian hero slugging it out daily with monsters in order to harvest precious Grindstones, with the goal of saving up enough to take your family on a well-earned vacation.
You have to match up as many different monsters as possible, preventing them from becoming enraged and harvesting Grindstones as you go, all while avoiding dying yourself. And with Mystical Mayhem you not only have 100 new levels, but also new brain-busting Quick Grind-inspired levels too!
The daily grind
There’s also the addition of a new cosmic wheel you can spin to win Gold, Grindstones and other resources. This may be a bit offputting to some for gacha-fying elements, but we’d have to see how it works in practice before we pass judgement. Either way, Grindstone is back, and now’s the time to jump into this long-time feature on Apple Arcade and beyond!
