- Dimensional Link allows players to fight with Hunters across the globe
- The MrBeast event will run from July 25th to September 2nd
- During it, you can snag a MrBeast Sword & Shield alongside other themed bits and bobs
It’s a double whammy of announcements from Niantic today as they reveal interesting changes for Monster Hunter Now alongside a collaboration with the world’s most popular YouTuber. That’s Mr Beast for those who aren’t young or care about the whole influencer scene.
But we’ll get to that later and kick things off with the new Dimensional Link feature. When the game is updated, you will notice some beasties on the map have an upside-down green triangle next to them. These are Dimensional Link Monsters, which means when you tap them, you’ll enter a lobby that allows you to fight them with players across the globe.
It’s a feature predominately aimed at folks living in rural areas where there aren’t too many other players to team up with. You can enjoy all the benefits of playing with a party, including the group hunt bonus. The only caveat is you can’t Paintball a Dimensional Monster, which is probably not a huge deal for someone who couldn’t previously enjoy co-op.
And now for the MrBeast collaboration. It’s an event questline running from July 27th to September 2nd, giving you plenty of time to grab all the available goodies. They include MrBeast Layered Equipment, face paint, a Guild Card Background, and a Hunter Medal. You can also grab Season Tier Points, Zenny and Rare Monster materials. So it’s worth doing even if you have no interest in MrBeast.
If you are, though, the most enticing reward is likely the MrBeast Sword & Shield. Using MrBeast Briefcases you collect throughout the event, you can upgrade this weapon to Grade 6, with regular materials used for 7 and beyond.
