Many new resources were introduced in Path of Exile (PoE) 3.25 Settlers of Kalguur, most revolving around the new Kingsmarch Settlement league mechanic. One such resource is Wheat, a valuable resource used when establishing trade routes with other settlements. Here is how to get Wheat in Path of Exile 3.25 Settlers of Kalguur and how it is used.
How to get Wheat in PoE 3.25
In PoE 3.25, Wheat is grown entirely at your Kingsmarch Settlement. Unlike the first two ore-based resources you find in Path of Exile 3.25 that must be marked for mining in maps, all you need to do to procure Wheat is to build Farms and begin growing Weat on your Farming Plots using recruited Farmer NPCs. Here are the exact steps on how to grow Wheat in PoE 3.25:
- Visit your Kingsmarch Settlement and enter the Town Hall in the center. Click on the ‘Town Improvements’ hammer icon inside.
- Upgrade your Kingsmarch Settlement to Rank 2 which costs 15 Gold and 5 Orichalcum Ore. Orichcalcum Ore is the second mining resource you can acquire by marking it on your maps then setting your Miners at Kingsmarch to procure it.
- Head to Sonja located on the northwest side of Kingsmarch and spend 50 Gold to unlock the Farm. At Farm Rank 1, you’ll have access to two Farming Plots in that area.
- At the plots, change their Farming Resource to Wheat to begin growing Wheat.
- Head back to the Town Hall and speak to Raulf, the Recruiter to hire some Farmers to tend to your Wheat Farms. If non are available to recruit, click the refresh button to refresh the recruitable workers.
- Set your Farmers to work on your Wheat farms and wait the allotted time for them to produce Wheat!
Also, make sure you have enough Gold in your Treasury to pay the wages of your Farmers. You can visit Johan in the Town Hall in Kingsmarch to add Gold to the Treasury.
What is Wheat for in Path of Exile?
As a Crop resource in PoE 3.25, you’ll mainly use Wheat to conduct specific Trade Routes at the Harbour in Kingsmarch. In fact, the first Trade Route you have access to, the settlement Riben Fell, has Wheat marked as a Favoured Resource. The first 16 units of Wheat you send to Riben Fell will grant you +40% more favor when determining the rewards you receive from the trade route.
You’ll want to make sure you’re always producing a bit of Wheat to use as needed. Eventually you can have quite a few Farming Plots at Kingsmarch, so make sure at least a couple of them are always growing Wheat and that you have the proper Farmers working the plot to produce it for you.
