Re: ‘Really awful’; Chesterville family that lost bid to stay in Canada deported to Mexico, July 20
It’s truly disgusting that the Chavez family, from Chesterville, was deported back to Mexico by immigration because officials said the family didn’t qualify to stay in Canada. These people were contributing to our economy by working full-time jobs and doing everything by the book, but immigration said “too bad, so sad.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has imported hundreds of thousands of people, hopeful Liberal voters who don’t contribute anything to our economy, filling up community centres, with the government leasing hotels, etc., to house these imports — but the Chavez family didn’t qualify. Their kids were fluent in English and enrolled in school and were playing soccer, etc., and they weren’t living off government handouts. Immigration still said “no.”

This is a total disgrace on Canada, our so-called immigration department and Trudeau. The next election can’t come soon enough to get rid of Trudeau. It’s just too bad we can’t deport Trudeau while we’re at it.

BALLOONING PUBLIC SERVICE
Re: BATRA’S BURNING QUESTIONS: Is there value in the 42% growth in Canada’s public service in 9 years? Online, July 20
Before Prime Minister Justin Trudeau came to power in 2015, Stephen Harper’s government had been cutting what it deemed a too costly and bloated federal public service. By growing it 42 per cent, Trudeau has cost taxpayers billions while adding very questionable value. As with every other thing Trudeau has done, this was a political decision to solidify a group that has constantly voted for him. Much of Trudeau’s job growth has been expanding government as he has been absolutely brutal to small business, the backbone of Canada.

While ballooning the federal public service, Trudeau still contracted out to McKinsey, GC Strategies, et al, spending millions for research on things such as immigration and ArriveCAN. Surely an efficient and highly paid public service should be able to conduct much of this research.
