- Tribe Nine, the upcoming ARPG developed by Akatsuki and To Okyo Games, has unveiled a new trailer
- Check out how battles, and the extreme baseball gameplay, look
- Tribe Nine is inspired by the works of Kazukata Kodaka and artist Rui Komatsuzaki
As we recently covered, the upcoming ARPG Tribe Nine (from the creator of Danganronpa, Kazutaka Kodaka and artist Rui Komatsuzaki) will be holding a PC beta, with its mobile release confirmed. But thankfully we’ve also got a brand new trailer to show off, featuring some of that “extreme baseball” gameplay that so caught us off-guard in the first place.
Those who are sceptical about the idea of a baseball-themed ARPG will be glad to know that this trailer also shows off more familiar battles. But what caught our eye was what definitely looked like a mini-game adaptation (or something thereof) of the city-wide baseball games mentioned in Tribe Nine’s plot.
And if you’re wondering who you can recruit, well, you get a rapid-fire introduction of new characters, antagonists and fittingly baseball-themed enemies. Suffice it to say they all manage to follow the flashy and rather over-the-top look of many of the characters found in Kodaka and Kotasuzaki’s previous collaborations on the Danganronpa series.
Tribes- wait, wrong game
Suffice it to say, Tribe Nine looks to be a bit of a dark-horse competitor in the ARPG space at the moment. Given the dominance of developers like MiHoYo and others, we’re intrigued to see how well Tribe Nine is received when it comes out. We’ve yet to receive a confirmed release date, but PC players can check in on the beta when it goes live on August 9th.
As for other games you can play in the meantime, why not check out the latest entry in our regular feature of the top five new mobile games to try this week?
Better yet, you can always take a gander at our other list, a mega list if you will, of the best mobile games of 2024 (so far). Each features handpicked entries from virtually every genre.
