Jeremy Clarkson hit back at Chadlington residents after they were left unhappy about him installing a series of beehives at his Oxfordshire farm.
The decision prompted local ramblers to become disgruntled about being stung by the flying swarm of bees when they walk nearby.
After first spotting the complaints, Jeremy mocked the backlash on X as he typed: “Hilariously, the Mail reports that ramblers are being stung by my bees. Diddums.
“I put some bee hives there because that’s the regen field and there are many things they like to pollinate.
“And now I’m in trouble because someone might get stung. Who’d be a farmer?”
Writing in his latest column for The Sun, Clarkson quipped: “It seems that some ramblers are saying I’ve deliberately placed bee hives near a public footpath on my farm to stop people using it.
“Horse s**t. I have bee hives all over the farm – placed not to deter Liberal Democrats but because the plants growing nearby are suitable.”
Clearly not concerned by the complaints, Jeremy quipped: “Could people be stung? Yup, probably, if they mess about. Do I care? Not especially.”
He explained further: “What they haven’t realised is that next to another footpath about a mile away, I have a s***ing great bull called Endgame.
“And if you annoy him, he won’t sting you. He will turn you into pate. In short, the countryside is full of dangers. If you don’t like that, go to a waterpark instead, ” Jeremy finished.
It comes as Jeremy thanked a fan for a thoughtful gift sent to him and his girlfriend, Lisa Hogan.
The former Top Gear host initially didn’t know who had sent the present but was able to thank the sender after they commented on his Instagram post.
Over the weekend, Jeremy took to Instagram to share a photo of the gift with his 8 million followers.
The gift was a miniature version of the Diddly Squat farm shop, made from dolls house miniatures that replicated the items sold in his Cotswold farm shop.
In his post, Jeremy wrote: “Someone called Sarah has sent us this, but we have no address to say thank you. We love it.”
Fortunately, @slpearce69 responded to the post, expressing her gratitude for the positive feedback. She wrote: “Thank you for all the wonderful comments I’m truly humbled and beyond chuffed that Jeremy and Lisa like it xxx.” (sic)
